Senexx  I'm continually amused by those that refer to forums as blogs - two different beasts

I think the thing is that many people have never used forums. I'm considering creating a template for the forum section to make it look like a blog. Perhaps that would make it more user friendly for some?

I don't think that has got anything to do with anything. A blog is a forum but a forum is not a blog. In exactly the same way a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square.

If you dig a little deeper into how blogs and forums function, they really aren't so different. You could build a blog front-end off a forum back-end (that's what this software platform does), or a forum front-end off a blog back-end (Wordpress has a forum plugin for example). There's an initial post, followed by a bunch of comments, divided into categories.
