Yes it might be close but it's hard to see the sheer number of seats that the ALP need flipping to the other side. Still, it appears Campbell has called the poll due to his plummeting poll numbers, and may even have a hard time keeping his current job as a local member.

I see that PUP has stated a policy of reforming the upper house in QLD in their platform.

"the odds of an LNP victory have firmed considerably, from anywhere between $1.20 (Ladbrokes) and $1.29 (Luxbet) last Wednesday in to between $1.12 (Luxbet) to $1.15 (Ladbrokes) on Monday".

How can the PUP "reform" the QLD upper house? We don't have one! Oh, I just looked it up ... he claims he will re-form the long absent house. As their only chance, the Greens would love it of course.

Oh wait! Could be Palmer's last chance as well.

Yes, I see they got a bounce right after the poll was called. Voters usually get a bit more conservative once the vote is called in that they are slightly less likely to toss out a government.

By "reforming" I meant their announcement to re-form, that is, re-institute, the upper house in QLD. No doubt a bit of a wold card gambit to get attention; ironic also given Palmer's past with Belke-Petersen. I see though that PUP is at about 1% in the polls so I don't think they'll go far on that.

Looks like Newman might not be so lucky after all -

The latest poll predicts Queensland Premier Campbell Newman will lose his Ashgrove seat, leaving a re-elected Liberal National Party (LNP) government to pick a new leader.
