I'm a Wests Tigers fan and of course dismayed by the Dragons victory in last year's Semi-Final but very happy with the team line-up for this year even though we haven't purchased anyone new.

We don't need anyone new.

I'm very happy that Timmy Moltzen is back, I just hope he doesn't get injured again soon. A likely occurrence after events like these.

I'm also wondering the status of Taniela Tuiaki and if he'll ever get back to the form he was in. The rumours are all ready that he's gone and moved on but there has been no official word. Assuming he's still with the club I do worry about his form or getting him back to where he was before he was deliberately targeted by a Parramatta player.

Anyway how's your team shaping up?

Senexx: I live in Tigers territory but I was born near Jubilee Oval in Kogarah so I am a rusted on Saints supporter. I'm looking forward to a good season. Another flag?

I maintain last years Grand Final would have been more entertaining if the Tigers had been there instead of boring and predictable as it was (except for my brother I guess who is a Roosters supporter)

The mighty Dragons to win again, of course! :D B)
And Souths to flop badly - Inglis will be a total dud!

I doubt Souths will flop as badly as the Cowboys. We have serious problems up here!

Senexx,
We all know I am a dragons fan, but I like WestTige's as well. They can consider themselves very hard done by in the finals series. How they did not penalise Easts for hands in the scrum in the first final is beyond believe.
Although I would dearly like saints to go back to back, I am tipping WT to win the comp this year.(or storm)
On GI, they should have let him go to the cross country ballet code, no one person is bigger than the game.

Tony will stop the boats, even if he has to buy them all.

And now they want to sign SBW. WTF? How do they fit him under the cap?

Where the f-ck are Souths finding all this money.
Won't do them any good, it reminds me of Manly trying to buy a premiership in the late seventies and early eighties.
You need team spirit and a champion team, not a team full of champions only interested in money.
That's why I am tipping Storm, Tigers and Dragons for the cup, with Broncos and Canberra not far behind.
Cheers Eb. :D

Sorry, forgot to mention you also need a top line coach like Bennett or Bellamy.

THE Melbourne Storm fiasco has taken a new twist, with club chief executive Ron Gauci threatening to sue a tram driver for defamation over comments he posted on social networking websites during last year's salary cap scandal.

Mr Gauci, appointed CEO of the National Rugby League club in July last year, has sought compensation and an apology from 28-year-old Melbourne Storm fan Jamie Koo, of Sunbury.

Mr Koo posted comments on websites describing Mr Gauci as ''a News Ltd puppet'' and ''in the exact mould of John Hartigan himself''.

As a Saints supporter, I'm pretty happy with last year (yay, won the gf, finally!) and pretty happy with this year except the talk that Bennett may head off somewhere. I'd be happier if he did a total of four or five years before he leaves. Winning a premiership is great but now we need to cement that and make all the systems permanent.

Even though I always like to see Souths do well, this business with Inglis is an embarrassment. What, he can't accept a few tens of thousands less for the sake of the club? And for some poor bastard who's going to be let go now because there's not enough cash left over? Nothing wrong with Souths trying to build a club around a couple of big names but it looks like Inglis is the wrong choice. The damage will last for years until Inglis is gone.

The Brisbane Broncos have reportedly sacked coach Ivan Henjak on the eve of the 2011 NRL season.

The NRL heavyweights are expected to confirm the decision at a press conference at 5.00pm AEST with Henjak's assistant Anthony Griffin tipped to be installed as the interim coach.

The Broncos failed to make the finals in 2010, the first time since 1991, while Henjak's apparent strained relationship with his players has been widely reported.

Henjak still had two seasons left to run on his contract.

The Broncos' NRL campaign is set to kick off against the Cowboys in three weeks.

A News Limited report claims Henjak was given three months pay on the condition of strict confidentiality over the issues surrounding his departure.

His sacking opens to door for coaching legend Wayne Bennett to leave the Dragons and possibly return to the Broncos, a club he has won six premierships with, next season.

Saints would have to be hot favourites for sure, but I reckon the Storm will have a bit to prove this year.
