I haven't touched mine for a while but have successfully got a tree of over 1000 which isn't that many in the scheme of things. Also have quite a few photos from the 1800s, maybe that branch of the family was wealthy as I understand they were rare at the time.

They're absolute monsters, and then you don't know where to split lines so you can follow a branch appropriately.

The more you go into it - the more there is. It just grows exponentially. You get trapped in a sticky web of your own making the more you proceed with this insane exploration.

I'd love to do more but it takes a cast-iron constitution and infinite patience. Some family members are mentioned in passing in some of the Australian family history literature. I've got connections to the family that wrote Along the Nine Mile and if you know what you're looking for so does the former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Sadly that branch is not directly connected to me.

I'm yet to be made aware of anyone famous or infamous in my family tree.

I think I'm only aware of recent relatives. However, although he isn't related to me, my sister's dad had his camera beaten up by John Daly

Good on you Senexx for getting as far as you did. My parents come from big families and have origin in Europe so there are quite a few cousins of mine I have never met. I would be happy to get the family tree back to a few generations and see who's who. One day.

I've been delving into family history for decades and have found some quite nasty people also a few Saints.
I have a nice mix of people in there; predominantly English, Irish, Scots and Welsh but also Normans, French, Scandinavians, Hungarians, Russians, Germans, Italians, Spaniards (to use their modern names) and a lot of others.

Some 2,500 ancestors and growing but at the moment I'm concentrating on living relatives and meeting a few of them. Only recently my wife and I had afternoon tea with a cousin who lives in a nearbye town and whom I may have met as a child on visits to her Grandmother.
