And here we go. You seem to live a in a magical world where "anyone who wants a gun can get one", hunting that this then implies that guns should be freely available to all. None of these ideas is logical.

and you seem to live in a world where "Spell Check" does not exist.

Regardless of which, I'd still like to know, why do the Greens and their fellow travelers only attack the law abiding?

Why do the Greens launch lying attacks on citizens who obey the law, what's wrong with going after the criminals?

yes, spell correct is a bummer.

I am not really a close follower of the Greens, but I think there's a bigger picture than that. Mind you, the NSW Game Council was found to be a pile of shit in the last year, so maybe the Greens were not that far wrong?

In the meantime, anything that makes it harder for aspiring crims and retards to get guns is fine with me.

Possibly; I had reservations about the Game Council myself, but to resort to outright lies and to invent statements as the Greens did does not bode well for our society.

I agree that we need to make it harder for crims to get guns, perhaps Customs ought to get their act together.

No doubt Customs are trying, however I think their funding for searches was significantly cut in the last year.

There is one of the reasons that indicate that our politicians are not serious about public safety.
First they pass laws to disarm the law abiding and then withhold funds that would help to curb the criminals.

I think really we should ease the load on Customs by taking a lead from NZ regarding drug laws, and also decriminalising and regulating recreational drugs in general. Much of their efforts are spent intercepting a single-digit percentage of drugs imported to Australia, while personally I would be much happier if they concentrated on other things, such as guns.

I agree NZ has many saner laws than Australia, especially their gun laws.

Exclusive: After Westgate, Interpol Chief Ponders 'Armed Citizenry'
Oct. 21, 2013
By JOSH MARGOLIN

Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble said today the U.S. and the rest of the democratic world is at a security crossroads in the wake of last month's deadly al-Shabab attack at a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya – and suggested an answer could be in arming civilians.

In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Noble said there are really only two choices for protecting open societies from attacks like the one on Westgate mall where so-called "soft targets" are hit: either create secure perimeters around the locations or allow civilians to carry their own guns to protect themselves....Noble's comments came only moments after the official opening of the 82nd annual gathering of the Interpol's governing body, the General Assembly....

In the interview with ABC News, Noble was more blunt and directed his comments to his home country.

"Ask yourself: If that was Denver, Col., if that was Texas, would those guys have been able to spend hours, days, shooting people randomly?" Noble said, referring to states with pro-gun traditions. "What I'm saying is it makes police around the world question their views on gun control. It makes citizens question their views on gun control. You have to ask yourself, 'Is an armed citizenry more necessary now than it was in the past with an evolving threat of terrorism?' This is something that has to be discussed."

EXCLUSIVE BRENDEN HILLS THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH NOVEMBER 16, 2013 10:00PM

A JEWELLERY maker produced sub-machine guns in his suburban home, selling them through an organised crime syndicate for $15,000 each.

JAILED GANG FOUNDER'S LINK TO OUTSIDE WORLD

Backyard arms trader Angelos Koots admitted making up to 100 of the perfectly constructed MAC 10 machine guns - more commonly seen in war zones and believed to have been used in Sydney gang shootings - at his Seven Hills house.

The guns, sold with two magazines and a silencer, were of such quality that during "Mythbuster" style tests alongside a genuine MAC 10 they fired 600 rounds a minute.

Maybe the Greens MsP ought to read this and do something about the lawless instead of always attacking the law abiding gun owners.

Perhaps they could start telling lies about criminals for a change.
