The London Olympics are almost upon us and Ireland is offering holidays for Londoners who want to escape it all.

I am working out my tactics to avoid, as far as is humanly possible, watching any of it, especially the Opening Ceremony.
It will be difficult but I'm quietly confident that I'll be relatively Games free.

For me, the Olympics came to light some years ago when Roy & HG took to providing commentary. I believe that HG Nelson once again has a nightly spot covering the sporting event, and from the promo interview, it's likely to be more of the same.

So I'll be a sporting aficionado nightly to watch his content, nd Roderick, there could be something in it for you too.

I've been a Games Official at shooting events, at near Olympic level, and it's unutterably boring, particularly Air Pistol.
