Premier O'Farrell of NSW seems to be suffering from the same malaise as his predecessor John Howard and his present Federal counterpart Tony Abbott. That of being in hypocritical haze.
It seems that the Premier is so kind hearted that he granted all seniors of NSW who do not possess a driving licence a free (previous cost 48 dollars) ID card from the RTA. In his announcement the Premier said that this will assist all senior citizens in NSW who quote "are burdened by the imposition of the carbon tax" end quote.
On the other side of the coin however the Premier is not in a kind hearted mode when it comes to charging public housing tenants (in the majority senior citizens) on their "carbon tax supplements". This was supposed to be immune from these increased rent charges, but his Minister (Prue Goward) has announced that this is not so. Rent will be assessed on that supplement.
